Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

When the world is over powering we have to remember that the witnesses are there… look to Jesus

When sin and weight is about to crush us and we have no relief in sight… look to Jesus.

When we think the cross of our own making is to much to bear … look to Jesus.

When we think we can’t run the race … look to Jesus.

When we think God must have chosen us wrongly… look to Jesus.

It is not about us and our troubles. It is not about our value.  It is about the value of the Lord’s Anointed.  How quickly we look away from the REALITY of Christ and into the world of our own making.  Under the weight of the consequences of our own sin.

OF COURSE we have VALUE.
OF COURSE we have been chosen.
OF COURSE we are set free from our sin.
Oh how easily we lose sight of Christ.
