Selfless Christianity

Posted by in Obervations, Scripture

My wife gets me.  She has this uncanny knack to get when I am all bummed out, when I am spent. Something about her question tonight made me think about it in a strange light. We have a lot going on. Most of the people don’t care about it, they only see their needs and I have found myself judging them because of their selfishness.  I want to shout “It is not about you!” but then again, when I do that I often make it all about me. The peace we have with God *ONLY* comes from Jesus Christ as Lord. Not our stuff, not our schedule, not our jobs, not the morning cup…read more

Great Quote Spurgeon “Old Truth”

Posted by in Uncategorized

“The old truth that Calvin preached, that Augustine preached, that Paul preached, is the truth that Imust preach to-day, or else be false to my conscience and my God. I cannot shape the truth; I know of no such thing as paring off the rough edges of a doctrine. John Knox’s gospel is my gospel. That which thundered through Scotland must thunder through England again.”—C. H. Spurgeon The only non Calvinists I know are those who have not studied the Bible enough to have realized the error of THEIR ways… 😉
